In the village of Twyford near Reading is a charity called Daisy's Dream. They support young people struggling with the impact of bereavement.
Daisy's Dream work across Berkshire and the surrounding areas. They offer a flexible service which is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child and their family. This can range from telephone support and advice for parents; home and school visits for a child or young person; group events; and training for professionals
Last year, Daisy's Dream helped over 500 children from more than 400 families. As well as direct support to the children, they offer advice and information for parents, carers and professionals.
Daisy's Dream is one of the designated charities of Berkeley Homes Western, a company within the Berkeley Group. The Berkeley Homes Western team has raised money and awareness in all sorts of ways, from cake sales to a glamorous black-tie charity ball, while the Berkeley Foundation has made grants contributing to the cost of one of their Family Workers.
