Berkeley Homes Central London has been supporting Thrive since early 2012 and staff have done everything from selling Christmas wreaths and bacon butties to the Tough Mudder. Combined with a grant from the Berkeley Foundation, this has brought some significant investment to Thrive.
Thrive has been able to enhance the support it offers people with disabilities who want to get a job. Many of their clients desperately want to work but find it difficult to access training and employment. So we have helped Thrive establish a social enterprise which will support employment and help make the charity more financially sustainable. Berkeley Homes has also provided work experience and paid work for some of the Thrive gardeners. This has made a big contribution to Thrive's 'Working it out' programme.
Investing like this in a range of different ways has made the partnership between Berkeley and Thrive infinitely more fun and much higher impact. We are delighted to support them and were very proud indeed when Berkeley was voted Thrive's Corporate Volunteer of the year for 2012.
