Beating Time provides integrated programmes in prison enabling people serving sentences to develop their self-confidence and employability, with a focus on helping people set up their own businesses.
With the support of the Berkeley Foundation, Beating Time will expand its proven Creative and Enterprise programme to a women's prison for the first time. The 15-week programme, which will be delivered in HMP East Sutton Kent Park, includes one-to-one business coaching and mentoring from KPMG, and is underpinned by weekly choir sessions aimed at creating a strong sense of inclusion, improving mental health, and developing soft employability skills.
The 'Prison Creative and Enterprise Programme' will be delivered in collaboration with Enterprise Exchange and Enterprise Inspiration. Up to 12-months of on-going business support will be provided on release from prison to those women wishing to start their own business.
