High Trees Community Development Trust is a well-established community hub in Lambeth, supporting local people to increase their skills, access employment and build active, resilient communities.
With the support of Berkeley Foundation, High Trees will expand its proven life-coaching model to a younger age group for the first time. Over three years, the YOUthCOACH programme will work with 48 young people aged 11-14 from the local area.
The support will include two months of weekly one-to-one sessions through their life coaching programme. Young people will also come together for group workshops, covering topics such as self-esteem and self-awareness. The programme is aimed at young people experiencing a turbulent home life and at risk of exclusion from school, and aims to help participants make positive choices about their future.
Following the programme, there will be plenty of opportunities for young people to get involved in High Trees' wider activities in the local community.
