Gifted Young Generation

Gifted Young Generation (GYG), based in Gravesham, North Kent, provides young people aged 8-19 years (up to 25 years with additional needs) with support services such as FREE mental health counselling, the chance to take part in free activities, to lead campaigns they are passionate about and to inspire and guide career opportunities.

GYG was set-up in 2008 at The Grand Healthy Living Centre in Gravesend and is led by a youth committee who plan and deliver projects such as ‘Say No To Hate Crime’ and international programmes around digital safety.

Since that time the service has grown significantly to reaches 1000s of young people each year, working with every secondary and grammar school in the borough.
GYG now provides young people with free year-round workshops in creative skills such as cooking, singing, dance, podcasting, coding hair and make-up design as well as running youth clubs across the borough.

Each year GYG’s youth committee raise essential funds for two counsellors, by producing a major show where young people perform on stage at The Woodville theatre in Gravesend. The young people run the behind-the-scenes for the show too, learning lighting, sound and photography skills.

‘Creating positive memories’ is our ethos and something we think can inspire the direction of someone’s life. We are passionate about inspiring career opportunities and providing opportunities for young people to explore education and career pathways.

GYG’s services and workshops are all free so that every young person has the chance to take part, learn something new, have fun and make friends.
