Helen & Douglas House

Helen & Douglas House hospice improves the lives of local terminally ill children and their families living in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.

Helen and Duncan House

They were set up as the world’s first children’s hospice and provide individualised respite and end-of-life care at their hospice in Oxford, in a child’s home and in hospital. The care they provide makes it possible for families to create happy memories which will last forever.

Berkeley Homes (Oxford & Chiltern) have been in a successful partnership with Helen & Douglas House for 25 years, raising a phenomenal £120,000, and counting. In 2021, the business chose to fund one supportive stay a month for a whole year for families who desperately need their services. The supportive stays at the hospice are a lifeline, often preventing children and families from reaching a crisis, and they became even more critical during the pandemic.

The hospice also has two siblings support groups; a safe place where brothers or sisters of a terminally ill child can talk about what they’re going through with people who understand.
