An employer's guide to supporting talented young people facing barriers to work

A coalition of 11 companies, charities, universities and professional institutes has launched this new Employer's Guide. It explains how to support talented young people facing barriers to work.

The 40 page document is divided into three chapters. The first explains why young adults might not be employed or looking for work, drawing on the latest evidence from psychology and social science. The second contains case studies, largely drawn from our experience with a pioneering 'training for work' initiative called Street Elite, run with the Change Foundation. The third contains a short list of practical dos and don'ts to be used in the workplace. You can download the full report by clicking underneath the red box, or read any of the individual chapters below.
