Funding

At the Berkeley Foundation, we believe every young person has enormous potential.

Since 2011 we have been working in partnership with expert organisations to give young people and their communities the tools and resources they need to thrive and be a force for change in the world. We use all our resources to support organisations, young people and communities to have a positive impact in the areas where Berkeley Group works.

We work with organisations that:

  • are registered charities or community interest companies (CICs);
  • cover and deliver in at least one of the following geographical areas – Greater London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, West Sussex, Warwickshire and the City of Birmingham; and
  • align with one of our priority areas:

Our Strategy Commitments

A Resilient Voluntary Sector

Our communities include a voluntary sector that is effective, inclusive and well-resourced.

In 2023/24 we distributed £3.6m to our charity partners through grants, staff fundraising and payroll giving donations.

Resilience Fund

The main funding programme for which we accept applications is our Resilience Fund, which represents a £900,000 investment in strengthening the voluntary sector between 2021-2025.

Year 3 of the Resilience Fund was open to applications between 8 January 2024 – 2 February 2024. Applications were welcomed from organisations working with young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and who face multiple layers of discrimination and inequality.

We are unable to accept applications for funding outside of the Resilience Fund.

Expression of Interest

If you are not eligible to apply for funding through the Resilience Fund and you would like to make us aware of your work, please submit an Expression of Interest here. Submitting an Expression of Interest will help us understand if your organisation and programmes align with our strategic priorities. We will be in contact in future if we have a live funding opportunity relevant to your work.
