Berkeley Homes (South East London) held their second Berkeley 68 tower running event on Friday 25 June. 47 runners from across Berkeley SEL, Berkeley NEL and selected SQP subcontractors took part in the event, which was adapted to be fully Covid compliant, racing to the top of Berkeley's South Quay Plaza development in Canary Wharf.
The event was raising money for the Berkeley Foundation, with one runner taking on the challenge not once, but five times! Carly Melling, Operations Manager at Berkeley Homes (South East London) had promised to run to the top once for each £500 she raised. Following a hugely successful fundraising campaign, Carly's total kept increasing and she decided to limit her trips to the top to five times. That's five times 68 floors - a total of 340 floors to climb!
Carly completed the challenge and has so far raised over £4,600 - an absolutely astonishing amount. In total at the last count, participants have raised £12,367.00.
All donations are match funded by the Berkeley Group, so the money raised will go even further to support the Foundation's work.
