We are absolutely delighted to announce that Berkeley staff have raised an incredible £5 million for the Berkeley Foundation and our partner charities.
When the Berkeley Foundation launched in 2011, it was clear that there was a huge appetite across the Group for getting involved. The idea of having a Designated Charity for each Berkeley business was established, and these relationships have flourished. Berkeley staff have organised a plethora of fundraising events, from bake sales and Christmas jumper days to football tournaments, dragon boat races, wine tastings and climbing some of the tallest mountains in the world. 33% also give regularly through Give As You Earn.
We are thrilled that the staff fundraising figure is now an incredible £5 million. This milestone has been reached through the collective efforts of Berkeley staff, contractors, suppliers, friends and family, supported by our amazing team of Foundation Reps.
Sally Dickinson, Head of the Berkeley Foundation says "For an organisation to have had such a fantastic response from our teams is tremendous. Raising £5 million in seven years shows the dedication and enthusiasm that our staff bring to the Foundation, and is a milestone to be proud of. The money has helped us reach and exceed all targets set in our previous strategy, and most importantly has made an enormous difference to the lives of young people and their communities."
In total, the Berkeley Foundation has committed more than £15 million in funding to more than 100 voluntary sector partnerships.
