This month marks the end of two remarkable Berkeley St George Community Partnerships: 10 years with Honeypot Children’s Charity and 13 years with SPEAR. Together, we’ve achieved an enormous amount – and today, we’re celebrating everything these long term collaborations have made possible.
Over the course of our partnerships, Berkeley St George colleagues, supply chain partners and the Foundation have raised £776,000 for SPEAR and £627,000 for Honeypot. It’s an incredible achievement and a testament to the commitment, generosity and energy shown across the business.
Our approach has always been rooted in trust and long term investment. Through unrestricted funding and close, collaborative relationships, we’ve been able to support both charities as they’ve grown, expanded into new communities and developed innovative projects that meet the changing needs of the people they serve.
These partnerships have shown what’s possible when organisations work side by side with shared purpose. SPEAR and Honeypot have been exceptional partners, and we’re proud of everything we’ve achieved together – from supporting people experiencing homelessness in west London to giving young carers across the UK the respite, stability and joy they deserve.
During the partnership, Honeypot has opened a new house and significantly increased the number of super-fun respite breaks for young carers. It has also introduced health and wellbeing breaks delivered in partnership with schools for young people experiencing emotional difficulties.
Through the introduction of Wellbeing Days, SPEAR has supported over 600 people experiencing homelessness to access vital health services, as well and strengthening its services across West London in response to escalating social care and housing needs.
A huge thank you to our brilliant Foundation Champions, Katie Sampford and Jags Sanghera, for their leadership and dedication, and to the many Berkeley colleagues and supply chain partners who have contributed in so many ways over the years.
Both charities have told us how much they’ve valued the enthusiasm and generosity of Berkeley volunteers – and how your support has made a real, lasting difference to the people they work with.
Although these partnerships are coming to an end, the impact will continue for years to come. We’re grateful for the journey we’ve shared and proud of the legacy we’ve built together.
