Berkeley St Edwards recently held their annual charity black tie boxing night, which raised a record-breaking amount - an absolutely amazing £90,185. It's the largest amount yet, and a full £20,000 higher than last year. The night saw eight rounds of amateur boxing, a three-course meal and a live auction and raffle.
This is the 5th year the event has run and had 350 people in attendance, which included staff, contractors, consultants and suppliers. The event raised a fantastic, the largest amount yet and £20,000 higher than last year.
Sophie Harrison, Head of Communications said "The most sought after prize was the sale of Toni Byrne Price, Operations Director for Outer London and Danny Ellis, Production Director, who offered their private services as toilet cleaners, babysitters and hooverers for a day. Two subcontractors bid heavily for their services, paying £30,000 between them."
The money raised will be donated to three chosen charities with £30,000 going to each.
Momentum, founded in 2004, is a charity that focuses on supporting children and their families throughout cancer treatment. At any one time, their remarkable work provides support for 200 families whose child is in active treatment, and a further 75 bereaved families.
The Connection is a charity focused on assisting the homeless. Their incredible efforts provide a range of services, from helping individuals cope with the physical and psychological torment of being homeless, to providing supported housing.
READY raises money to support disabled young individuals play sport and take part in healthy activities. The charity has helped hundreds of children, through the provision wheelchairs, prosthetics, equipment and sport lessons.
