Berkeley Homes (North East London) has announced a new partnership with charity Home-Start London. Home-Start London is a consortium made up of 14 Home-Start schemes from across London, reaching as far as Barnet in the north to Sutton in the south and Redbridge in the east to Hillingdon in the west.
Home-Start's trade mark early intervention model includes training and placing home visiting volunteers with families from all walks of life who are finding it difficult to cope. By providing non-judgemental practical and emotional support Home-Start helps parents find ways to manage and sort out their difficulties before they become more serious.
Last year, 862 London volunteers made a big difference to 2,328 families and 4,607 children. Invaluable support and friendship helped these Home-Start families build better futures for themselves and their children.
Together the 14 consortium members create a larger footprint than they would individually to have a greater impact across London. Home-Start London helps with the delivery of much needed services to reach even more vulnerable families across the capital, particularly those living in deprived areas.
Helena Konneh, Director of Home-Start says "It is increasingly tough for charities such as Home-Start to survive on their own. Partnership working is integral to continually improving and expanding our services and we are very excited to be working with Berkeley Homes (North East London) to help us achieve this."
Fionna McDermott, Berkeley Foundation Representative for Berkeley Homes (North East London) added, "Berkeley Homes (North East London) is delighted to be working in partnership with Home-Start London for the next 3 years. We very much hope this collaboration will raise much-needed funds to support more families across north east London. We take volunteering really seriously and look forward to working with Home-Start London to deliver some great benefits to their families and children."
