The Berkeley Foundation has launched Our journey so far, celebrating ten years of social impact.
The Foundation was established in 2011. It makes grants and builds partnerships with fantastic frontline charities across London, Birmingham and the South of England, working together to help young people and their communities to thrive.
Over ten years, the Foundation has committed more than £23m in funding to its voluntary sector partners, enabling them to reach almost 37,000 people with support around housing and homelessness, skills and employment, and health and wellbeing.
Our journey so far is full of stories from the Foundation’s partners and the young people they work with. You can hear from Alex, who secured a job with Berkeley in 2015 and is now working as an Assistant Site Manager p.33). George, who has found a passion for cricket and is training to be a coach (p.41). Monica, who has steered a vital community charity through the pandemic (p.34) – and many more.
Over ten years the Foundation has become integral to the Berkeley Group’s approach to supporting communities. Berkeley staff support the Foundation’s work each year through volunteering, fundraising events and Give As You Earn, and have raised an amazing £6.7 million for the Foundation and its charity partners to date.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Foundation’s journey so far - colleagues across the Berkeley Group, inspiring charity partners, incredible young people – and many, many more.
