In partnership with our learning partner, Social Innovation Exchange, we hosted a kick-off session for our new cohort of Resilience Fund Partners. The five organisations support young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and those who face multiple layers of discrimination and inequality.
The kick-off session was designed to be an entry point into the conversation around what resilience means to organisations working with young people in the UK, and what it means to the voluntary sector more widely. The aim was to foster a culture of trust and critical reflection, where attendees felt safe to share experiences and increase their understanding of the concept of resilience.
Our Partners shared what they were most looking forward to during the learning programme. Key points identified were:
-
A space to explore, a journey of learning, experimentation
-
Authenticity, not feeling embarrassed about issues we are dealing with
-
Being open, what happens out of work can impact the business
-
Exploring power dynamics with the organisation
During the second half of the session, we were joined by two partners from our second cohort of Resilience Fund Partners, Reaching Higher and Spiral Skills, who spoke about their journeys to become more resilient organisations.
It was a hugely inspiring first session with our new partners: CARAS, Esteem, Foyer Federation, Settle and Youth Concern.
We’re looking forward to the next steps in our learning journey together.
