St Matthew's Project is a community-based charity offering support to the young people of Lambeth on and off the football pitch.
The charity's mission is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where young people can come together and enjoy structured sports and learning opportunities. Trained football coaches help Lambeth's young people fulfil their potential and improve their well-being both physically and emotionally through targeted support to children and families.
With our support, St Matthew's Project has launched the Fit for Life programme which aims to support participants to develop protective qualities like self-esteem and resilience which have an important part to play in enhancing psychological health and wellbeing. The programme offers football sessions combined with group mental health and wellbeing sessions. Every week, a group of young people will have the opportunity to attend an hour long session delivered by a professional counsellor, followed by two hours of football and food.
